Joining the Brigade

Usually, a member of divison 59 C/D must complete a minimum of 100 hours of Volunteer Medical First Response Services that are provided at a variety of community settings including, but not limited to:

  • Public gatherings
  • Sporting and recreational events (ie. GM Place, Abbotsford International - Airshow, Celebration of Lights)
  • Disaster or civil emergencies (ie. forest fires, floods, earthquakes)

The volunteer candidates:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Should be physically and mentally capable of performing the activities that are reasonable for the type of service they are to provide
  • Must hold, as a minimum at the time of enrolment, a valid Standard first aid and Level "C" CPR certificate from a nationally recognized training agency.
